Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Principal Cloud Data Architect to lead the Channels Data Platforms modernization. You will define target architecture, guide cloud-native transitions, and ensure security, resiliency, and compliance across data and analytics ecosystems.

This role focuses on Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka, and modern engineering patterns. You will shape multi-year roadmaps, establish operating models, and mentor teams while partnering with governance, risk, and product

Qualifications

• 12+ years in data/software engineering with 8+ years on enterprise data platforms.
• Leadership in cloud modernization (Azure preferred) and Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka.
• Modernizing legacy systems incl. Informatica ETL and mainframe workloads.
• Strong NFR focus: resiliency, security, performance, scalability, observability.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python; Java/Scala a plus.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and operate in regulated environments.
• Excellent communication for executive and technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop the engineering approach for the program/portfolio with Architecture.
• Plan, define and design complex features spanning multiple teams.
• Evaluate technologies and drive state-of-the-art solutions.
• Provide end-to-end technical oversight and architecture governance.
• Define tool stack and patterns; ensure QA and release management alignment.
• Lead end-to-end testing strategy and cross-team integration.
