Job summary

MBL Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to support the design, development, implementation, and security of complex information systems and cloud environments for a federal client.

This role requires hands-on cybersecurity and cloud security in large federal environments, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure compliance with RMF, FedRAMP, and A&A/ATO processes. The ideal candidate will translate mission needs into secure technical solutions, support system

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of Information Security experience, including at least 1 year of Cybersecurity and Cloud Security experience supporting a large government agency comparable in size and scope to GSA, IRS, DoD, or VA.
• Demonstrated expertise in security architecture and security engineering.
• Experience with project management and translating customer requirements into technical requirements and communicating them to project and engineering teams.
• Experience managing or supporting IT and cloud design, security, development, systems engineering, and implementation efforts.
• Demonstrated expertise with cybersecurity and security solutions within federal and/or commercial environments.
• Experience supporting federal Assessment and Authorization (A&A) and Authority to Operate (ATO) activities.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity architecture, engineering, and authorization requirements, including FedRAMP and RMF.
• Strong understanding of applicable federal cybersecurity policies, processes, standards, and frameworks.
• Ability to evaluate complex technical environments, identify security risks, and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical, program, and client-facing teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a High-Risk Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity solutions for enterprise IT and cloud environments.
• Provide technical expertise in security architecture, security engineering, and cloud security across the system lifecycle.
• Translate customer, mission, and cybersecurity requirements into actionable technical and engineering requirements and communicate them effectively to technical teams.
• Support and manage IT and cloud design, security, development, systems engineering, integration, and implementation efforts.
• Evaluate system architectures and technical solutions to identify cybersecurity risks, security gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and recommend security architecture and engineering solutions that align with federal cybersecurity requirements and industry best practices.
• Support federal Assessment and Authorization (A&A) and Authority to Operate (ATO) activities.
• Implement and assess cybersecurity requirements in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP).
• Support the development, implementation, and assessment of security controls across traditional and cloud-based environments.
• Develop and maintain technical and security documentation required to support system authorization and compliance activities.
• Collaborate with system owners, architects, engineers, developers, cybersecurity personnel, and other stakeholders to integrate security throughout system design and implementation.
• Support the identification, analysis, and remediation of cybersecurity vulnerabilities and technical security risks.
• Ensure systems and solutions align with applicable federal cybersecurity policies, processes, standards, and frameworks.
• Provide technical guidance and cybersecurity engineering recommendations to project teams, program leadership, and government stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen security architecture, system resilience, compliance, and overall cybersecurity posture.
