Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst to join a remote team supporting VA applications and cloud migration. You will develop and maintain CM tools, enforce configuration standards, and lead CM practices across multiple projects.

The role requires deep CM and release engineering expertise, collaboration with stakeholders, and mentoring junior staff. A U.S. citizenship requirement applies; ITIL/CM certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and delivering complex software builds and releases across multiple environments.
• Experience in large, regulated or federal environments.
• Deep expertise in software configuration management and release engineering.
• Broad knowledge of development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.
• Experience with CM practices (identification, baselining, change control, status accounting).

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and migrate to the cloud.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for CM identification, control, reporting, and delivery of software (in-house and COTS).
• Perform CM and release engineering tasks ensuring documented, compliant builds.
• Design, develop, automate, maintain productivity tools to improve modeling and development.
• Design and implement build procedures to support development and use.
• Develop CM standards for company-wide use.
• Train software developers in CM tools and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and solutions to complex problems.
• Operate autonomously and make sound decisions.
• Ensure compliant, repeatable build and deployment processes across projects.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead and train junior analysts/engineers in CM best practices.
