Quicken is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to drive cloud-based backend services. You will join the Cloud Services team, delivering high‑quality Java solutions, leveraging Spring and AWS in a scalable SaaS environment.

The role emphasizes leadership, mentoring, and collaboration with cross‑functional partners to meet user, engineering, and business goals while adopting cutting‑edge technologies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including SaaS/PaaS products.
• 5+ years working with Java, Spring Framework and AWS.
• 3+ years with microservice architectures and REST/JSON.
• Extensive AWS deployment experience.
• Strong O/R mapping with Hibernate/JPA.
• Able to handle ambiguous requirements and prioritize effectively.
• Proven leadership and cross‑functional collaboration.
• SQL experience, MySQL preferred, and strong data skills.
• Solid programming discipline: data structures, complexity, OOP, design patterns, testing.
• Experience API development and third‑party integrations.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on, technical role building backend/server code in Java for Quicken Cloud Services.
• Deliver production‑ready, scalable backend services following best practices.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, product managers, QA, and operations to design end‑to‑end solutions.
• Foster a culture of high quality, learning, and modern technology adoption.
• Mentor junior developers on quality, security, and scalability.
