Job summary

Resideo is seeking a backend software engineer to design, develop, test, deploy, and support cloud-based services for connected devices. You will own moderately complex features from design through production deployment, collaborating with product, QA, operations, firmware, and mobile teams to ensure reliability and scalability.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software engineering experience, strong C#/.NET or Java skills, and hands-on experience with cloud platforms and distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience developing and supporting production software.
• Strong hands-on programming experience with C#/.NET, Java, or a comparable OO language.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting backend services and RESTful APIs in production.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support of backend services and cloud components.
• Develop high-quality software using C#/.NET and established engineering patterns, coding standards, and automated testing.
• Design integrations with databases, event streams, messaging systems, queues, storage, and other cloud components.
• Translate requirements into maintainable technical solutions; identify risks and operational considerations early.
• Review code and designs, mentor less experienced engineers, and drive improvements to system performance and reliability.
