Job summary

Western Alliance Bancorporation seeks a Principal Engineer I to lead cloud automations across Azure and AWS. You will define reference architectures, guardrails, and platform roadmaps while guiding migrations and modernization efforts at enterprise scale.

You will establish automation-first practices using Terraform, Ansible, Python, and CI/CD, and mentor teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions with strong governance and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience delivering infrastructure automation at enterprise scale.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• Hands-on and architectural expertise in Azure and AWS environments.
• Experience defining cloud architecture standards, automations, and platform strategies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal technical authority for cloud automation across Azure and AWS.
• Define and evolve enterprise cloud reference architectures, standards, and guardrails.
• Lead high-impact automation initiatives, migrations, and platform modernization.
• Drive automation strategy and roadmaps aligned with business priorities.
• Mentor engineers and lead cross-functional teams on design reviews.
