Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) seeks a seasoned Cloud Engineer to architect and deliver cloud-native microservices across AWS, Azure, or GCP. You will lead Kubernetes deployments, service meshes, and secure CI/CD pipelines enabling mission-ready software across enclaves.

You’ll collaborate with product teams, SREs, and cybersecurity while mentoring engineers to raise cloud engineering standards. A U.S. security clearance is required, and the role is onsite in Dayton, OH.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional cloud engineering experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong proficiency with Kubernetes (deployments, networking, scaling, observability).
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and microservice design patterns.
• Proficiency in Python or C++ and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and cloud networking.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver cloud-native microservices across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Lead Kubernetes lifecycle, multi-cluster operations, and service-mesh integrations.
• Define and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and SBOMs.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm, Kustomize) for repeatable deployments.
• Add telemetry with distributed tracing, metrics, and alerting.
• Ensure cloud security posture and enclave-specific access controls.
• Mentor engineers and drive best practices across cloud DevSecOps teams.
