Job summary

American Airlines is seeking a senior cloud governance architect to lead end-to-end multi-cloud strategy in the DFW area. You will architect governance, automate policy remediation, optimize costs, and mentor engineers while coordinating with Cybersecurity and enterprise architects.

You will drive IaC adoption, align platforms with regulatory standards, and contribute to on-call coverage for critical systems. Fort Worth base, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training.
• 9+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale solutions in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end cloud governance, cost management and FinOps solutions across multi-cloud environments.
• Define cloud best practices with Cybersecurity and enterprise architects.
• Mentor engineering team on best practices, design patterns, and emerging cloud technologies.
• Lead governance initiatives including automated policy remediation, cost intelligence, anomaly detection and automated compliance.
• Automate infrastructure using IaC technologies and adopt cutting-edge cloud solutions.
• Oversee lifecycle of cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
• Communicate product strategy and roadmaps to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Monitor availability, performance and cost; optimize resource usage and troubleshoot issues.
• Diagnose and address complex cloud infra issues and participate in 24/7 on-call rotation.
