Job summary

GDIT is seeking a Cloud Architect Sr Principal to contribute to critical DoD and national security programs from Offutt AFB, NE. The role focuses on designing cloud architectures, ensuring compliance with FISMA/FedRAMP/ATO, and guiding product evaluation and transition to cloud hosting.

A TS/SCI eligible clearance is required. We value extensive experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and DoD security requirements, with a strong emphasis on DevSecOps, CI/CD, and secure design principles.

Qualifications

• BS degree; may be substituted for additional years of experience.
• 10+ years of experience.
• Security Clearance Level: Must have a current/active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI status.
• Required Certifications: ITIL Foundation certified within 9 months of start; 8140 Certification.
• Location: Offutt AFB, NE.
• Comprehensive understanding of cloud architecture models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and hybrid environments.
• Knowledge of major cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and government-specific cloud services.
• Deep familiarity with federal security and compliance frameworks: FISMA, FedRAMP, RMF, and ATO processes.
• Understanding of DoD security requirements, cybersecurity controls, and secure design principles.
• Knowledge of network, application, and infrastructure security concepts
• Awareness of identity and access management, PKI, encryption standards, logging, monitoring, and audit requirements.
• Understanding of DevSecOps approaches, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development practices.
• Knowledge of product evaluation methodologies and cloud technology market trends
• Familiarity with systems design documentation, architectural artifacts, and technical writing standards

Responsibilities

• Develop and define the overall cloud architecture and provide input into design and operational activities.
• Integrate application, server, network security, and government requirements such as FISMA, FedRAMP, and ATO processes.
• Participate in the product evaluation and selection process.
• Provide architecture expertise and assist in development of products and deliverables to support USSTRATCOM strategy in transition to Cloud hosting.
• Provide management of research and evaluation of current market trends, best practices, and preferred architectural approach.
• Assist and support activities to eliminate gaps or inconsistencies in the initial solution, architectural design, deliverables, benefits, and messaging.
