Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Cloud Solution Architect to lead cloud infrastructure initiatives, focusing on AWS GovCloud solutions for the Veterans Health Administration Office of Connected Care (VHA OCC). This position will be fully remote.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in cloud architecture, infrastructure as code (IaC), and microservices with Kubernetes, and will drive cloud adoption, security, observability, and scalable deployments across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/MIS or related field required.
• 9+ years of experience in cloud architecture and implementation.
• Strong understanding of AWS Gov Cloud and VA service environments.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and AWS technologies.
• Proficient in microservices/container architectures using Kubernetes.
• Excellent problem-solving in complex environments.
• Experience with IaC and automation tools (Jenkins, Argo CD, GitHub).

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of cloud-based solutions.
• Collaborate with development teams to align with strategic goals.
• Contribute to security-focused workflow processes and observability.
• Oversee AWS microservices observability and optimization.
• Coordinate cross-team communication for project success.
• Guide iterative development with customer feedback and continuous releases.
