Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Cloud Solution Architect to lead AWS GovCloud deployments for the Veterans Health Administration and drive cloud adoption across the organization. This role is fully remote and requires deep expertise in cloud architecture, IaC, and microservices.

The successful candidate will collaborate with development teams, guide CI/CD and security practices, and oversee end-to-end project delivery from planning to implementation with a focus on continuous improvement and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, or related field with 9+ years of experience.
Good understanding of AWS Gov Cloud and VA Service environments.
Experience with CI/CD quality assurance processes and AWS.
Minimum of 7 years experience in cloud architecture and solution implementation.
Strong understanding of microservices/container architectures using Kubernetes.
Excellent problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment.
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code & Automation, Containerization, Observability & Monitoring, and Database technologies.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with development teams to design and implement systems aligned with strategic goals.
Develop and document critical workflow processes with a focus on security and efficiency.
Contribute to observability, monitoring, and optimization of AWS microservices architecture.
Monitor progress and adapt strategies to changing needs.
Evaluate and implement new technologies to boost capabilities.
Refine processes to boost business efficiency and effectiveness.
Provide oversight and manage iterative application development with continuous releases.
Develop and present plans for new features with accountability for success.
Coordinate across teams through effective communication.
Provide cross-functional consultative services to stakeholders during development and troubleshooting.
Ensure regular and reliable attendance.
