Job summary

Zillow Group is seeking a Senior Accountant for the Close and Consolidations team. You will blend financial transformation with hands-on accounting to advance close initiatives, own programs, and drive efficiency and scalability across the accounting function.

You will also partner with Tax, Legal, Treasury, and Compliance to ensure settlements are accurate and aligned with agreements, while supporting strategic projects like M&A integrations and new entity formations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong US GAAP foundation with intercompany and multi-entity consolidation experience.
• Experience with intercompany accounting and transfer pricing processes.
• Ability to lead cross-functional projects and programs.
• Process improvement and automation orientation.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
• Advanced Excel and ERP/data tools proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Co-lead close optimization and drive standardization across teams.
• Own close communications, facilitation, and tracking of the close cycle.
• Overhaul artifacts, templates, and frameworks coordinating close activity.
• Lead cross-team programs like close management and consolidation.
• Oversee intercompany program with Tax, Legal, Treasury, and Compliance.
• Represent accounting in Zillow Group strategic projects (M&A, new entities).
• Develop and enhance internal control frameworks for SOX compliance.
• Deliver financial analysis and metrics to drive optimization and scalability.
• Own accounting for focused close areas (expense accruals).
• Review intercompany activity and ensure settlements are accurate.
• Prepare monthly fluctuation analyses and month-end close docs.
