Job summary

The University of Miami seeks a full-time Manager, Clinical Trials Activation to lead a defined team and oversee day-to-day activities in budgeting, negotiations and activation of research budgets at the Don Soffer Clinical Research Center in Miami, FL.

The role focuses on Medicare MCAs, budget development, and ensuring compliance with UM policies, sponsor requirements, and applicable regulations. Hybrid work arrangement available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience required.
• Experience with budgeting, budgets development, and research agreements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads assigned team, provides day-to-day leadership, mentorship and oversight.
• Participates in recruiting and onboarding; trains staff and prepares performance reports.
• Prepares Medicare Coverage Analyses (MCAs); develops and negotiates research budgets and financial terms.
• Provides input to leadership on short- and long-range objectives for programs and projects.
• Creates reports, data summaries and conducts statistical analysis for the team.
• Tracks research budgets and payment terms; manages work distribution and performance monitoring.
• Collaborates with staff to monitor day-to-day progress and resolve issues.
• Coordinates with university and external research entities to ensure compliant, efficient management of sponsored projects.
