Job summary

Mohawk Valley Health System seeks a registered nurse to serve as Clinical Risk Manager, responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across the MVHS system while enhancing patient safety and quality of care.

The role administers the risk management program day-to-day, analyzes data, conducts proactive risk assessments, delivers targeted education, and provides risk management consultation to ensure regulatory compliance and a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in risk management, clinical, quality and/or legal work.
• Leadership, critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Outstanding written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate MVHS's clinical risk management program to meet system needs and regulatory standards.
• Review and analyze incident reports related to risk management and patient safety.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations and coordinate peer reviews.
• Prepare incident summaries and documentation for investigations and regulatory reporting.
• Monitor risk management data systems and investigate adverse events accordingly.
• Collaborate with Quality/Performance Improvement to align safety goals and committees.
• Provide guidance on risk management policies and educate staff on risk exposure and liability.
