Job summary

Mohawk Valley Health System is seeking an RN - Clinical Risk Manager to lead the system Risk Management program, assess and mitigate risks, and promote patient safety.

The role administers risk data, conducts proactive assessments, and provides education and consultation to ensure regulatory compliance across MVHS. Strong collaboration with legal, compliance, and insurance partners is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• At least 5 years of risk management, clinical, quality and/or legal experience.
• Leadership, critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Outstanding written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
• Master's degree and paralegal/claim management experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead MVHS's clinical risk management program in compliance with regulations and standards.
• Identify, assess and mitigate risk; administer risk management data and education.
• Coordinate root cause analyses and peer reviews with departments.
• Prepare incident summaries and reports for investigations and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with Quality/Performance Improvement and legal/compliance teams.
• Provide guidance on risk management policies, procedures and practices.
• Deliver risk management education and participate in committees.
• Manage insurance claims with brokers and insurers.
