Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking a Senior Human Research Program Manager to oversee the Bodansky Laboratory's clinical research portfolio and CHAMP program. The role drives strategy, governance, and scalable systems in pediatric research, coordinating cross-functional teams, regulatory compliance, and biospecimen workflows.

The incumbent will mentor staff, lead diverse partnerships, and ensure high-quality study execution within a fast-paced academic medical setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in human-subjects research, clinical research operations, or related field, including at least four years leading complex programs or cross-functional teams.
• Advanced knowledge of human-subjects research operations and regulatory requirements in academic medical centers or health systems.
• Proven success designing and implementing governance structures, SOPs, quality systems, and performance metrics across organizational boundaries.
• Advanced leadership and project-management skills with ability to manage a large portfolio and shifting priorities.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, with ability to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Establish program strategy, governance, infrastructure, and performance standards across prospective clinical research and multi-protocol workflows.
• Lead implementation of scalable systems as programs grow, with diplomacy and autonomy.
• Advise the Principal Investigator on risk and resource priorities and negotiate solutions across departments and institutions.
