Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System is seeking a Senior Research Nurse to support the NCH-RI Clinical Trials Office in oversight of protocol execution, training, and data management for early-phase studies.

The role emphasizes ensuring regulatory compliance, patient safety, and accurate data collection while coordinating with PI, sub-investigators, and study teams. A Florida nursing license and Phase I experience are strongly favored.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Florida RN licensure (or multi-state compact) active throughout employment.
• Must obtain IATA, ACLS, PALS and BLS within specified timelines.
• 2–4 years of professional research or healthcare experience; 1–3 years in Phase 1 trials.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate team activities to ensure protocol compliance and budgeting.
• Plan logistics for procedures per protocol and manage risk mitigation.
• Prepare and deliver training materials, dry runs, and required certifications.
• Maintain staff skill proficiency and currency of required licenses/certs.
• Provide protocol-specific nursing care to trial participants as needed.
• Assist with developing SOPs and guidance documents for early-phase research.
• Coordinate blood sample collection, cultures, and other specimens per protocol.
• Prepare progress reports and data requests for sponsors and PI.
• Communicate with Sponsors and monitors; facilitate site visits.
• Review protocol feasibility with leadership and QA to ensure quality standards.
