Job summary

Meharry Medical College seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator II to coordinate advanced clinical research projects under supervision. The CRC II will work independently, understand IRB, FDA, OHRP, GCP/ICH and HIPAA guidelines, and ensure trials meet Meharry policies and procedures.

The role supports PI/s, manages regulatory communications, and assists with Center of Excellence operational and financial tasks. Bachelor’s or higher in science with clinical research experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited discipline specific program with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in science.
• Prior clinical research experience in a patient care setting preferred.
• Experience as an LPN or travel phlebotomist or clinical research experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess eligibility of potential subjects via screening interviews, medical record reviews, and physician/nurse discussions; may travel for recruitment activities.
• Maintain required study activity records including case report forms, consent forms, and regulatory documents.
• Assist with budget, revenue, expenses, invoices, and other accounting documents; manage accounts receivable/payable in clinical research.
• Perform protocol procedures such as interviewing subjects, taking vital signs, and ECGs; manage specimens collection, labeling, storage, and shipment.
• Monitor study activities for compliance with protocols and regulatory requirements at local, federal, and institutional levels.
• Schedule subject appointments; inform patients or caregivers about study aspects and potential outcomes.
• Assist with IRB submissions, protocol revisions, renewals, and maintain IRB communications.
