Job summary

NALHE is seeking a quality improvement professional to consult on clinical quality, patient safety, accreditation, regulatory and licensing (AR&L), risk management, and infection prevention. The role involves evaluating, designing, and implementing evidence-based guidelines and programs to reduce variation in practice and improve outcomes, plus collecting and presenting data for state and federal agencies.

Responsibilities

• Promotes learning in others by communicating information and providing advice to drive projects forward; builds relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Conducts or oversees business-specific projects by applying deep expertise in subject area; partners internally and externally to make effective business decisions; solves complex problems; escalates high-priority issues or risks, as appropriate; coordinates and delegates resources to accomplish organizational goals.
• Develops and implements data collection and analyses to support quality improvement efforts by: conducting advanced statistical analysis for quality improvement evaluations, special projects, and other work for multidisciplinary review; presenting quality improvement metric reports to demonstrate improvements and effectiveness of quality improvement programs to department and program managers; serving as a technical expert to team members by interpreting trends and advising on results.
• Supports in-depth and advanced quality improvement and improvement risk management efforts by researching corrective action plans; ensuring processes are compliant with regulations; conducting root cause analyses and other assessments; escalating high-risk issues and trends to appropriate entity for resolutions.
• Investigates opportunities to develop new quality improvement performance metrics by researching best practices and designing measurable metrics integrated into workflows.
• Facilitates the development of quality improvement initiatives by leveraging technology and data-driven principles, and creating milestones and detailed workplans.
• Serves as the subject matter expert for quality improvement processes and regulations for internal and external stakeholders by interpreting policies, advising on regulatory changes, and coordinating with stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Develops stakeholder development and quality performance review processes by establishing criteria, giving feedback, and developing training programs.
