Job summary

Freenome seeks a Senior Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform high-complexity testing, lead assay improvements, and ensure strict QA/QC in a regulated environment. You will train staff, troubleshoot issues, and report results via LIMS, while maintaining calibration and documentation per SOPs.

The role requires a CA CLS license, a relevant Bachelor’s degree, and 4+ years of clinical lab experience, with collaboration across Development and Automation teams and leadership on project

Qualifications

• Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license (Generalist preferred, CGMBS accepted)
• Bachelor of Arts or Science in Biomedical Laboratory Science, Clinical Science or related field
• Working knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulations
• At least 4 years of Clinical Laboratory experience or equivalent
• Ability to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner
• Ability to analyze and problem solve complex issues that may impact test performance

Responsibilities

• Perform high-complexity laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses according to SOPs
• Collaborate with Development and Automation teams on assay improvements and validations
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and document preventive maintenance of lab equipment
• Review, interpret, and report patient results in LIMS
• Train laboratory personnel in new procedures and provide coaching
• Prepare reagents and perform reagent qualification
• Provide supervision of unlicensed personnel during analytical testing
• Write and review procedures and forms
• Lead introduction of assay improvements and validations
• Provide shift leadership and administrative support when needed
• Monitor data and process status
