Job summary

Arkansas Children's Hospital is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist with experience across CLS I–III roles. The candidate will mentor other scientists, assist the Technical Chief, and oversee multiple aspects of laboratory operations.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and 6 years in a related field, with certifications such as MT-AMT/MT-ASCP/NCA strongly preferred. This safety-sensitive, tobacco-free workplace offers day shifts in the CC094071 Lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Related Field - 6 years of experience.
• 1 of the following certifications is required - MT-AMT, MT-ASCP, MT-NCA (recommended)

Responsibilities

• Trains new employees and students.
• Performs advanced computer functions.
• Oversees data collection.
• Liaison to Pathology.
• Performs laboratory procedures and calculates, transcribes and records test results.
• Manages specimens for analysis, recognizes normal vs. abnormal results; communicates and documents critical values to the appropriate individual.
• Performs quality control testing, proficiency testing, and manual results review, IQCP review and QC Lot changes.
• Performs maintenance and/or calibration procedures on laboratory instruments and/or equipment then troubleshoots instruments and/or test system malfunctions.
• Identifies normal vs. abnormal results; communicates and documents critical values to the appropriate caregiver.
• Oversees section supply chain.
• Provides CPT updates, EPIC Charge review, coding discrepancies/worklist, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
