Job summary

Cardinal Health's Laboratory team in Fresno seeks a skilled technologist to oversee daily operations, perform accurate diagnostic testing, and ensure quality assurance. Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field with internship.
• State license as California Clinical Laboratory Technologist or temporary license.
• One year hematology experience preferred.
• Knowledge of computer/telephony support in health care.
• Strong customer service background in health care.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with standard office equipment and computer processing functions.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to resolve customer issues with diplomacy and tact.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory staff and operations for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Perform testing and report results accurately and timely.
• Adhere to quality assurance policies and document QC activities.
• Maintain equipment with scheduled checks and documentation.
• Resolve testing or equipment issues promptly and with proper remediation.
• Verify specimen identification and labeling prior to results release.
• Mentor lab personnel when needed.
• Perform proficiency testing and document results.
• Communicate testing issues with nursing staff and physicians.
• Notify if critical values occur and follow procedures.
• Maintain inventory of reagents and supplies.
• Orient and train new personnel as requested.
• Evaluate new testing methods and contribute to procedures.
• Operate computer hardware and software efficiently.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
