Qualifications

• Hematology experience preferred for daily testing workflows.
• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field with internship.
• State of California Clinical Laboratory Technologist license or temporary license required.
• Excellent verbal communication and strong customer service background.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency with computer/telephony in healthcare setting.
• Good organizational and documentation skills.
• Comfort handling laboratory equipment and testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day laboratory staff and operations.
• Perform laboratory testing and reporting accurately and timely.
• Adhere to quality assurance policies and document control activities.
• Maintain and document routine equipment function checks.
• Resolve testing or equipment issues promptly and document actions.
• Verify specimen identification and labeling before reporting results.
• Mentor lab personnel as needed.
• Participate in proficiency testing and document results.
• Communicate testing issues with nursing staff and physicians.
• Notify appropriate personnel of critical results.
• Maintain reagent stock inventory.
• Orient and train new personnel as requested.
• Evaluate new testing methodologies and assist with procedures.
• Operate computer hardware and software programs efficiently.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
