Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking an informaticist to promote understanding and use of healthcare data in scholarly research and business analytics. You will design and develop fit-for-purpose research databases, translate data needs between physicians and research staff, and support analytic solutions across clinical and financial domains.

You will work with Enterprise Data Governance to shape clinical data rules, support interoperability, and deploy robust analytics, including NLP and AI/ML

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a health/informatics field or related experience.
• 5 years of clinical care experience (ambulatory, hospital, post-acute).
• 3 years hands-on experience with EHR systems (EPIC, Cerner, Allscripts).
• 3 years in Clinical Workflow, Clinical Systems, and data used for clinical decisions.
• 1+ years working with healthcare claims data (preferred).
• Experience supporting academic or scholarly research and data documentation (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Deliver insights through enterprise-grade data and analytic solutions.
• Provide SME on clinical ontologies, vocabularies and coding sets.
• Develop business rules and definitions for clinical data domains.
• Collaborate with health plan, clinical, administrative, and IT units to meet data needs.
• Design, build and deploy analytic data solutions including real-time analytics and NLP/AI/ML.
• Provide clinical process and system training.
• Other duties as assigned.
