Job summary

AbbVie seeks a clinical development leader to guide programs, design protocols, and interpret data across therapeutic areas in the United States. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and communicate findings to stakeholders with clarity.

The role emphasizes ownership of study design, oversight of trial teams, and collaboration with Medical Affairs, Commercial, and other functions to align on development plans and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the sciences; advanced degree preferred.
• Ability to provide input and direction to clinical research with supervision.
• At least 5+ years of clinical trial experience in pharma or academia.
• Ability to oversee a clinical research program of moderate complexity with minimal supervision.
• Ability to perform and bring out the best in others on a cross-functional global team.
• Ability to interact externally and internally to support a global scientific and business strategy.
• Knowledge of clinical trial methodology, regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Leads and demonstrates ownership of design and implementation of multiple clinical development programs.
• Oversees study teams, monitors study integrity and safety/efficacy data.
• Ensures enrollment and timelines for key deliverables with Clinical Operations.
• Owns design, analysis, interpretation and reporting of study protocols and regulatory documents.
