Job summary

CalOptima Health is seeking a Sr Clinical Data Engineer (ITS Architect III) to design and support the clinical reporting data foundation enabling operational and regulatory reporting, Power BI dashboards, and AI-ready analytics. You will build scalable pipelines, clinical data marts, and enforce data quality across enterprise platforms while partnering with stakeholders and BI teams.

The role involves collaboration with the Enterprise Data Warehouse, Snowflake/Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, healthcare informatics, or a related field
• 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, data architecture, BI engineering, or clinical reporting
• 5+ years of healthcare payer data experience
• 5+ years of SQL-based transformations and enterprise BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, SSRS)
• 7+ years designing data models, pipelines, data quality controls, and reporting datasets
• 7+ years in utilization management and related healthcare payer data reporting

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support clinical reporting data foundation for operational and regulatory reporting
• Develop scalable pipelines and data marts on enterprise data platforms
• Collaborate with clinical stakeholders, data warehouse, BI developers to ensure accurate, governed reporting data
• Create and maintain data dictionaries, mappings, and lineage
• Develop reports and dashboards in Power BI and other BI tools
• Provide user training, testing support, and end-user reporting tools
