Job summary

Optum is seeking an Associate Director of Clinical Consulting to oversee client relationships, identify clinical solutions, and manage clinical resource allocation for multiple segments.

The role leads a team of clinical consultants, ensures client satisfaction, and drives clinical upsell targets including utilization management, formulary strategies, and adherence improvements. Remote within the U.S. is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
• Active, unrestricted US state pharmacist license.
• 5+ years of pharmacy practice experience or equivalent.
• 3+ years of client facing or clinical account management experience with 2+ years of presenting to clients.
• 2+ years in health plan experience.
• 2+ years in a leadership position or equivalent.
• Experience communicating with internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously.
• Proven competency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
• Proven solid clinical and analytic background.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Determine and manage clinical consulting resource allocation and assignment.
• Provide routine reporting to clinical leadership on milestones and issues.
• Ensure execution of client contracts and deliverables.
• Align PBM clinical priorities with organizational goals and client needs.
• Collaborate with clients to set ambitious but achievable clinical program goals.
• Mentor Clinical Consultants and promote staff development.
• Support sales and marketing with RFP activities as needed.
• Serve as SME for Clinical Consulting issues across departments.
