Job summary

UnitedHealth Group’s OptumRx unit seeks an Associate Director of Clinical Consulting to oversee client relationships, drive clinical solutions, and allocate resources across segments. The position supports remote work nationwide, with compensation ranging from $112,700 to $193,200 annually.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
• Active, unrestricted US state pharmacist license
• 5+ years of pharmacy practice experience or equivalent
• 3+ years of client facing or clinical account management experience with 2+ years of providing formal client presentation
• 2+ years of Health Plan experience
• 2+ years in a leadership position or equivalent
• Experience communicating professionally to internal stakeholders and external clients
• Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously
• Proven basic competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
• Proven solid clinical and analytic background
• Proven ability and willingness to travel up to 10%

Responsibilities

• Determine and manage clinical consulting resource allocation and assignment
• Provide routine reporting to clinical leadership regarding milestone attainment and any significant issues within their segment that may be impacting overall team performance
• Maintains understanding of client contracts and ensures proper execution of all clinical deliverables
• Ensures alignment of PBM clinical priorities with strategic goals of the organization and client
• Collaborates with clients to establish achievable but aggressive clinical program goals
• Improve medication adherence and formulary compliance targets
• Provide mentoring / coaching for Clinical Consultants to enhance staff engagement
• Assist in recruitment, onboarding and mentoring of new Clinical Consultant team members
• Support sales and marketing including participating in RFP/finalist activities as needed
• Serve as SME for other departments on Clinical Consulting issues/inquiries
• Participate in departmental and interdepartmental workgroups and projects
