Job summary

Independent Health Association in Williamsville, NY, is seeking a Clinical & Coding Specialist‑Senior PT to lead audits, review ICD-9/10, CPT/HCPCS coding and reimbursement analysis. The role requires an associates degree and coding certifications, four years of coding experience, project management, cross‑functional teamwork, and strong analytical and communication skills.

The position is hybrid with local travel.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required. Minimum of one of the following certifications: RHIA, RHIT, NYS licensed RN, AHIMA CCS-H/CCS-P, CPC.
• Four years of experience utilizing ICD-9-CM, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding systems and related reimbursement methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to review healthcare delivery against clinical, quality and financial guidelines.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to prepare studies and recalculate reimbursement.
• Autonomous, project-managed, SME in coding systems and cross-functional teamwork.
• Knowledge of organizational and audit/reimbursement strategies.
• Proficient PC/Windows skills including Word, Excel and Access.

Responsibilities

• Lead hospital audit process re-engineering as project manager.
• Oversee 1–2 day inpatient admission/readmission audits; track clinical findings and recoupment.
• Manage reconsideration clinical appeals and external review coordination.
• Serve as SME for audits and update policies/contracts.
• Present audit results to senior leadership for approvals and provider education.
