Job summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs' Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System seeks a Supervisory Biomedical Engineer (Clinical) to serve as the Deputy Chief Biomedical Engineer and lead the Clinical Engineering Section within Facilities Management Service.

The role focuses on professional/administrative management, policy guidance, equipment recall and safety programs, and coordinating major projects to strengthen clinical engineering programs and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Acts as consultant to Chief Biomedical Engineer and Medical Center on Biomedical Engineering issues.
• Assists with organizational changes in Clinical Engineering Section and communicates policies.
• Manages equipment recalls and safety alert programs to meet patient safety goals and NFPA/TJC requirements.
• Coordinates major procurement, installation, and in-service training for biomedical systems.
• Oversees long-range planning and special projects affecting Clinical Engineering and related facilities.
