Job summary

Cincinnatus LLC is hiring a senior clinical medicine domain expert to work with a leading AI lab, reviewing clinical knowledge work tasks, writing instruction specs, and building benchmarks to improve frontier AI models. The role requires MD/DO with 4+ years post-residency, US licensure, and senior-level experience, plus on-site Bay Area work with relocation at the candidate7s cost.

It is a full-time W-2 role, located hybrid in the Bay Area, with potential placement at the client lab.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with a completed residency in a recognized specialty.
• 4+ years of post-residency clinical practice (residency and fellowship do not count).
• Active, unrestricted medical license to practice in at least one US state, and board certification.
• Genuine specialization in a defined clinical specialty (e.g., internal medicine, oncology, radiology, emergency medicine, surgery, psychiatry, or subspecialty).
• Clear progression to senior level (Attending, Medical Director, Division Chief, etc.).
• Hands-on working use of large language models in professional work, with ability to discern correct from plausible but wrong answers.
• Able to commit reliably to 40 hours per week for an initial engagement of 6 months.
• Location: Living in the Bay Area, California, and able to work on-site with the client's team multiple days each week. Willingness to relocate at own cost if not currently in Bay Area.

Responsibilities

• Data QA and reviews: Vet clinical knowledge work tasks and model outputs for safety, completeness, and clinical scrutability.
• Instruction specs and golden datasets: Write instruction specs and golden solutions for clinical tasks.
• Benchmarks and domain depth: Design challenging clinical tasks and evaluation sets with the research team.
• Calibration: Align standards across clinicians and researchers, translating tacit judgment into explicit criteria.
