Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some College preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in a health care organization or front desk role.
• ICD9 and CPT coding knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of managed care preferred.
• Experience with charge posting or collections preferred.
• Ability to operate a 10-key calculator by touch.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors, verify demographic and insurance information, and enter data into the system.
• Assist with answering phones, taking messages, and handling inquiries from patients and staff.
• Respond to requests for patient account corrections and maintenance.
• Schedule patient appointments according to physician guidelines.
• Collect time-of-service payments and arrange payment plans as needed.
• Check in patients, update medical records, and assist with forms.
• Schedule appointments per clinician templates and office policies.
• Support front office lead with denials, work queues and related tasks to ensure clean claims.
• Screen visitors and respond to routine information requests.
• Adhere to HIPAA and CHRISTUS Health policies and maintain confidentiality.
• Communicate effectively, reflecting CHRISTUS Mission and ethical guidelines.
• Perform other related work as assigned by leadership.
