Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Burr Ridge, IL is seeking an experienced Climbing Arborist to prune, remove, and improve tree health. You will climb using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems and work closely with a ground crew to safely complete tasks.

Starting pay ranges from $25–$30 per hour, with overtime and weekend work available, and opportunities for advancement and training within a strong employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Pest control licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy.
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Removal of hazardous trees.
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
