Overview
Responsible for high‑level design, engineering, and support of the global end‑user computing environment, including desktops, laptops, virtual computing devices, handheld devices such as Blackberry, PDA, and iPhone, and software installations (COTS and proprietary). Under general direction, leads and performs organization‑wide patch management, desktop/laptop imaging, scripting/automation, and large‑scale implementation projects related to the client technology environment. Serves as a senior level resource for client technology functions.
Pay Range: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00

Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain a global end‑user computing environment that meets users’ needs for stability, maintainability, performance, and recoverability.
- Design and maintain an enterprise workstation and software management framework and associated systems.
- Design, test, and implement company‑wide standard desktop/laptop images, and maintain associated processes and documentation.
- Research, test, certify, and document operating system upgrades and patches for deployment organization‑wide, defining associated processes.
- Design, test, implement, and document unassisted installs of software updates and new installs, including custom desktop configurations.
- Lead design and implementation of client technology and end‑user computing systems, directing the work of others.
- Provide technical direction, project leadership, documentation, and senior‑level engineering for the client technology environment.
- Act as the primary technical interface with business areas during requirements gathering, design, implementation, and documentation.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve identified or escalated problems.
- Provide input during the performance appraisal process.
- Plan, evaluate, and recommend new technology and innovation solutions.
Qualifications
Education / Experience
- High School diploma or GED required; BS in an IT field preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in IT.
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Desktop Engineering/Architecture professional.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with imaging tools and software packaging technologies.
Skills
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Intune, imaging (SCCM/MECM), patch management, endpoint protection, scripting/automation, and software packaging.
- Expert knowledge of Desktop operating systems methodology, system tools, and remote desktop support.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and related products.
- Expert knowledge of SCCM, SCSM, SCO, and MDOP products.
- Strong knowledge of Citrix, VMware, App‑V, and other virtualization platforms.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills, including Tier 3 support and root‑cause analysis.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Server products.
- Working knowledge of networking technology and concepts.
- Proficient in one or more scripting languages.
- Proven ability to use good judgment, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to gain, understand, and apply information and data as it relates to information technology.
