Trial Balance are delighted to be once again working with a highly regarded and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Bath, looking to recruit an experienced Senior Client Accountant to join its dynamic and growing team. This is a firm that embraces new ideas, invests in its people and takes a progressive approach to both client service and the development of its team.

As Senior Client Accountant, you'll have a broad and varied role, working closely with clients, Partners and colleagues across the wider practice. You'll take ownership of a portfolio, lead client assignments and have the opportunity to become involved in more advisory and project-based work as your experience develops.

As Senior Client Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing a varied portfolio of clients and taking responsibility for the timely delivery of accounts assignments
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory and management accounts, together with associated VAT and tax compliance work
  • Developing strong, consultative relationships with clients and acting as a trusted point of contact
  • Providing practical accounting and commercial support, identifying opportunities where additional advice or services may benefit clients
  • Producing management information, forecasts and other financial analysis where required
  • Providing technical guidance to colleagues and supporting the development of more junior members of the team
  • Keeping up to date with technical developments and looking for opportunities to improve systems, processes and service delivery
The successful Senior Client Accountant will:

Be ACA or ACCA qualified, with at least two to three years' post-qualified experience within an accountancy practice.

You’ll have strong accounts production skills, a good understanding of UK financial reporting requirements and the confidence to deal directly with clients. Commercial awareness will be important, alongside the ability to understand a client's wider needs and add value beyond traditional compliance work.

You’ll also be organised, self‑motivated and comfortable working independently, whilst being someone who enjoys contributing to a collaborative team environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive accountancy practice where you’ll be encouraged to broaden your experience, develop your commercial and advisory skills and take on increasing responsibility as your career develops.
