Job summary

First Point Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in cleanrooms and HVAC in Houston, TX (preferred) with an alternative option in Chandler, AZ. You will define mechanical scope, lead design, and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high‑performance environments.

The role requires deep technical expertise in cleanroom and HVAC systems, ASHRAE/SMACNA guidelines, and field troubleshooting, with responsibilities to mentor junior staff and drive engineering procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 10+ years of dry systems experience; 10–17 years total relevant experience.
• Proven experience designing cleanrooms, controlled environments, and complex HVAC systems.
• Ability to manage conflicting deadlines and coordinate across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design phases: airflow modeling, pressure zoning, filtration strategies, load calculations, and equipment sizing.
• Develop equipment specifications, material requisitions, bid evaluations, and award recommendations.
• Coordinate with process, electrical, controls, architectural, construction, and supplier teams.
• Troubleshoot field issues and provide clear corrective guidance.
• Mentor designers/drafters and support development of engineering procedures and design guides.
• Communicate technical issues and recommendations to project leadership.
