Job summary

The California Energy Commission seeks a Clean Energy Transactions Attorney in the Chief Counsel’s Office to support energy policymakers in California. This role focuses on transactional matters, CEQA compliance, and representing the Commission in regulatory proceedings.

Under the supervision of an Attorney Supervisor, you will review, draft, and negotiate contracts, grants, and loans, and collaborate with the Attorney General’s Office on litigation related to transactional agreements.

Qualifications

• Must meet the MQs for Attorney III as defined in the CalHR Class Specification.
• Must be a member of the State Bar of California.
• Experience with state transactional work and environmental/energy law is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, grants, and loans for a range of energy programs.
• Advise on compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act and related laws.
• Represent the Commission in administrative proceedings.
