Job summary

RAND is seeking a Classified IT Network Engineer to join the Security & Classified Operations team. You will engineer networks and infrastructure for SIPRNET, TS/SCI/SAP, and unclassified environments, providing strategic technical leadership for classified networking technologies.

The role requires extensive DoD/IC experience, current certifications, and the ability to lead projects and mentor SCO staff. A TS/SCI clearance is required and you will work across classified and unclassified domains.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BS/BA in a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience may substitute for a degree.
• Extensive DoD/IC classified environment experience with current certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME in data, voice, LAN/WAN, Cloud and AV in classified/unclassified environments.
• Collaborate with S&CO Systems Administration and IS Managers on compliance and technical matters.
• Perform routine vulnerability patching and STIG application; monitor and align with national policies.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues with SCO and IS teams.
• Lead small-to-medium projects and design tactical network solutions.
• Provide Tier 1-3 support; develop network diagrams and participate in inspections.
• Coordinate with IS Networking on compliance, maintenance, and workloads.
• Evaluate and recommend enhanced network hardware/software for security and efficiency.
• Maintain current with emerging technologies and attend conferences.
