Berkley North Pacific Group (a Berkley Company) seeks a seasoned casualty claims professional to evaluate complex auto, general liability and umbrella claims, determine liability, and investigate losses. You will manage litigation from pre-suit to trial, coordinate with experts, and input claim data for reporting.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in casualty claims, JD optional, and active adjuster licenses.

• Ability to analyze contracts and legal documents and take positions on claim issues.
• Advanced insurance coverage evaluation skills.
• Proven litigation management skills.

• Advanced negotiation experience.

Responsibilities

• Examine and analyze policies, contracts, and claim forms to determine coverage on complex claims.
• Determine liability by gathering facts and applying applicable law.
• Investigate losses via telephone, correspondence, or on-site.
• Review and hire liability and medical experts for litigated and pre-suit claims.
• Establish and reevaluate accurate claim reserves throughout the lifecycle.
• Manage litigation by assigning counsel, plans, budgets, and settlements.
