Responsibilities include analyzing contracts for coverage positions, supervising investigations, and managing litigation costs while maintaining high levels of service to business partners.

Responsibilities

• Regularly review claim handlers’ work to ensure proper discharge of core claim handling responsibilities.
• Review authority requests with recommendations to senior management.
• Set objectives for claim professionals and track progress with feedback.
• Communicate company policies and expectations; address performance issues.
• Foster a positive work environment and mentor staff.
• Some travel may be required.
• Analyze contracts and facts to determine coverage position and reasonable claim value.
• Conduct/managing factual claims investigations with policyholders, remediation experts, counsel and others to gather all facts.
• Negotiate cost sharing with carriers/policyholders.
• Assign defense counsel and manage litigation strategy and budgets.
• Evaluate claims and advise management on resolution plans.
• Maintain claim files and documentation in claim systems.
• Respond to internal information requests from management, reinsurers, auditors, etc.
• Prepare timely and accurate reports on significant claim developments.
• Provide high levels of service to Chubb business partners.
• Mentor colleagues and share expertise with staff.
• Identify opportunities to improve operations and communicate them constructively.
