Responsible for communicating with clients, reporting and updating status of personal lines automobile and homeowners and commercial lines property and casualty claims activity in accordance with the practices, policies and procedures of the Company.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provides advocacy for small, middle market, and high-profile clients reporting claims activity.
  2. Decides based upon circumstances for each Personal Lines loss whether to personally handle for report to insurer via Accord Notice or, to Warm Transfer / release insurer claims 800 line.
  3. Provide follow up with claim acknowledgments and adjuster assignments.
  4. Refer emergency restoration service contractors/ and or adjusters as needed on property losses.
  5. Inputs general claim information in agency management system and diary appropriately for status.
  6. Notifies management of large loss activity in accordance with procedures.
  7. Acts as in-house resource and communicates proactively with clients, production and service staff, claims team and management.
  8. Expeditiously responds to producer inquiries.
  9. Directly handles most Commercial Lines claims activity and reports to the appropriate insurer in accordance with insurer guidelines and our set procedure.
  10. Maintains diary for follow-up and documentation in agency management system.
  11. Communicates verbally and via email with insurance company claim adjusters till resolution of claim.
  12. Determines which Policy applies to claim circumstances and reports potential claims to the appropriate carrier.
  13. Reviews carrier coverage position correspondence and concur/ dispute appropriately.
  14. Navigates the various insurance company online claims websites and databases to obtain information.
  15. Prepare and provide quarterly claim reviews for Commercial clients along with participation from carriers.
  16. Participate in the claim after hours program as part of the servicing team.
  17. Acts as an advocate for clients on all lines of claims with the assigned carrier.
  18. Educates staff and clients on various claim administration issues.
  19. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Claims Manager.

Qualifications:

  1. BA or Equivalent
  2. Minimum of 3 to 5 years claim / Insurance experience
  3. Experience with personal and commercial lines claims.
  4. Proficiency with claims reporting, advocacy, status and reserve adjustment concerns.
  5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.
  6. Excellent organizational, interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  7. Claim Adjuster license (s) in New England states a plus.
