Job summary

Hamilton Select seeks a Senior Claims Director Professional Lines to manage high-exposure claims across Allied Medical, Medical Professionals, E&O, and Management Liability. You will lead claim strategy, oversee litigation management, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with underwriting and leadership from Richmond, Virginia or remotely across the US.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive claims handling, litigation mgmt or related experience with increasing responsibility.
• Experience in Excess and Surplus market preferred, and professional lines exposure including Allied Medical, Medical Professionals, E&O, and Management Liability.
• Experience handling complex coverage issues and multi-jurisdictional claims and litigation.

Responsibilities

• Directly handle high-exposure professional lines claims on primary and excess policies.
• Review claims, processes, and policy language for coverage and damages.
• Develop and document strategy for complex professional liability matters and regulatory considerations.
• Draft disclaimers and reservation of rights letters.
• Negotiate settlements, manage expenses, and ensure timely reserving and payments.
• Mentor junior staff and support organization-wide initiatives.
