Job summary

Nationwide in Columbus, OH, seeks a Senior Claims Consultant to investigate, evaluate and resolve complex Excess & Surplus (E&S) claims of significant value. You’ll provide direction to defense counsel, serve as a subject-matter expert, and advise E&S leadership and partners. The role demands deep claims expertise, strategic oversight, and strong communication skills. Travel within normal office expectations may be required.

Qualifications

• Ten years of insurance experience preferred.
• Experience investigating and resolving complex coverage issues.
• Knowledge of policy language, laws, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve complex E&S claims from inception to disposition.
• Provide litigation strategies and coordinate with defense counsel.
• Develop training and guidance for the division on severe specialty claims.
• Maintain knowledge of coverage lines and evolving regulations.
