Job description

Senior Claims Analytics & BI Analyst (Property & Casualty Insurance) 5298
Power BI | SQL | Claims Performance | Executive Reporting | Remote
Drive Better Claims Decisions Through Data

Tier4 Group is partnering with an industry-leading insurance organization to hire a Senior Claims Analytics & BI Analyst who will serve as a trusted analytics partner to Claims leadership.

You'll work directly with Claims Directors and Vice Presidents to define the KPIs that matter, uncover operational trends, explain the story behind the data, and influence strategic decisions across the Claims organization.

We're looking for someone who understands how a Property & Casualty claims organization operates—not just how to build dashboards. If you've owned Claims KPIs, partnered with business leaders, and enjoy translating complex claims data into meaningful business insights, we'd love to speak with you.

What You'll Do
Partner with Claims Leadership
  • Serve as the primary analytics partner for Claims Operations leadership.
  • Collaborate with Directors and VPs to understand business priorities and translate them into meaningful reporting and analytics.
  • Lead conversations around claims performance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Present findings and recommendations to business stakeholders in a way that drives action.
Own Claims KPI Reporting

You'll help define, maintain, and continuously improve executive reporting around key operational metrics, including:

  • Average Severity
  • Loss Adjustment Expense (LAE)
  • Pending Claims
  • Reserve Accuracy
  • Litigation Rate
  • Reopen Rate
  • First Notice of Loss (FNOL)
  • Settlement Timeliness
  • Customer Experience Metrics

More importantly, you'll explain why these metrics are changing and what the business should do about them.

Build Modern Business Intelligence Solutions
  • Design and develop end-to-end Power BI dashboards for Claims Operations.
  • Replace manual Excel reporting with scalable, automated reporting solutions.
  • Build executive dashboards that provide clear visibility into operational performance.
  • Continuously improve existing reporting through automation and visualization best practices.
Analyze Complex Claims Data
  • Write advanced SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze large claims datasets.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Support root cause analysis and performance investigations.
  • Deliver actionable recommendations—not just reports.
Support Data Quality & Integration
  • Validate reporting accuracy across multiple claims systems.
  • Partner with IT and business teams during system enhancements, acquisitions, and data integrations.
  • Assist with UAT and ensure reporting remains accurate as systems evolve.
Required Experience
Property & Casualty Claims Experience
This is our highest priority.

We're looking for professionals who have experience supporting a Property & Casualty insurance claims organization through analytics, reporting, business intelligence, or operational performance management.

Ideal backgrounds include:

  • Claims Analytics
  • Claims Reporting
  • Claims Performance Management
  • Claims Operations Analytics

Experience within a P&C insurance carrier is strongly preferred.

Technical Skills
  • Advanced Power BI development with experience creating executive dashboards from the ground up.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying, validation, and data analysis.
  • Experience working with enterprise data warehouses and large datasets.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and reporting best practices.
Business Skills

You know how to bridge the gap between business and technology.

  • Gather requirements directly from business leaders.
  • Translate business questions into analytical solutions.
  • Explain complex data in simple business language.
  • Influence decisions through data storytelling.
  • Present confidently to executive leadership.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working in Claims Operations before transitioning into analytics.
  • Experience owning or managing Claims KPIs.
  • Experience supporting executive reporting for Claims leadership.
  • Knowledge of claims workflows, adjuster operations, and operational performance metrics.
  • Experience modernizing reporting from Excel to Power BI.
What Makes Someone Successful Here

The ideal candidate understands that great analytics goes beyond building dashboards.

You know how a Property & Casualty claims organization operates. You understand the metrics Claims leaders care about, can identify what is driving performance, and confidently communicate those insights to executive stakeholders.

You're equally comfortable writing advanced SQL queries, building Power BI dashboards, facilitating conversations with Claims leadership, and influencing business decisions through data.
