Job summary

MSIG USA seeks a seasoned claims adjuster to handle assigned claims within delegated limits, conduct thorough investigations, and settle fairly under MSMM guidelines. You will determine coverage issues, manage reserves, and ensure timely, accurate documentation.

Responsibilities include subrogation handling, defense coordination, client interactions, and regulatory reporting. A strong knowledge of claims practice and licensing requirements is essential, with ongoing communication to customers

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of claims experience, including ability to negotiate settlements, verify coverage, set reserves, investigations; litigation experience a plus.
• Licensing in other states that would reciprocate to handling claims in West Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Receives new claim assignments of moderate to complex nature and analyzes the claim to determine required investigation and handling.
• Performs timely investigations including necessary survey arrangements in compliance with jurisdictional requirements.
• Initiates reserve changes within authority and makes recommendations when authority is exceeded.
• Manages and negotiates timely claim payments and settlements in line with policy and procedures.
• Maintains case diary and documentation; completes required claim forms and reports.
• May handle subrogation within delegated limits, including identification of responsible parties and settlement negotiation.
• May assign defense of lawsuits to approved counsel and monitor defense costs.
• Serves customers—insureds, claimants, brokers—per company policy and attends client visits with underwriters.
• Maintains ongoing communication with customers for timely claim status and regulatory compliance.
• Completes data reports to state agencies to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintains compliance with Fair Claim Practices Acts and licensing requirements.
