Job summary

MSIG USA in Georgetown, KY is seeking an experienced Claims Adjuster to independently handle moderate to complex claims, conduct thorough investigations, and ensure fair settlements within delegated authority. The role emphasizes timely decisions, subrogation where appropriate, and adherence to MSMM guidelines.

You will maintain case diaries, prepare required reports, and communicate with insureds, claimants, and brokers to provide updates and resolutions.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED is required.
• 5+ years of claims experience, including ability to successfully negotiate settlements, verify coverage, appropriately set reserves, complete investigations.
• New York or Virginia claims handling experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives new claim assignments of moderate to complex nature and analyzes the claim to determine necessary investigation and handling.
• Performs timely investigations including survey arrangement as required.
• Initiates reserve changes within authority and advises supervisor if limits are exceeded.
• Manages and negotiates timely claim payments and settlements per policy and regulations.
• Maintains case diary and documentation; submits required forms and reports.
• May handle subrogation within authority; negotiates settlements.
• May assign defense to approved counsel and monitors defense costs.
• Maintains communication with customers throughout the claims process.
• Completes data reports to state agencies to ensure compliance with MSMM and regulatory requirements.
