Job summary

Atwell, LLC in Houston, TX seeks a licensed Civil/Structural Engineer (PE) to lead design for oil and gas pipelines, terminals, and facilities, delivering compliant civil and structural solutions from concept through construction.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate across disciplines, and uphold QA/QC standards while managing scope, schedule, and budgets on complex projects.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil/Structural Engineering degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 7+ years of oil and gas facilities or similar industrial experience.
• Proficient in STAAD.Pro, RISA, SAP2000 and CAD tools (AutoCAD, CADWorx, Civil 3D).

Responsibilities

• Lead civil and structural design for pipelines, pump stations, terminals, and facilities.
• Develop construction documents—structural plans, framing, and connections.
• Coordinate ductwork interfaces with mechanical, piping, and electrical disciplines.
• Perform structural analyses under wind, seismic, blast, and equipment loads per codes.
• Review engineering calculations and drawings from internal teams and subcontractors.
• Collaborate with multidiscipline teams to coordinate structural requirements.
• Conduct field visits to verify as-built conditions and gather site data.
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers.
