Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC in Rock Hill, SC seeks a Senior Civil Structural Engineer to support civil/structural design activities, evaluating structures and resolving technical issues for building systems.

You will report to the Manager of BOP Design and Module Fabrication Support in Building Engineering & Physical Design, with a hybrid work arrangement. The role involves design of infrastructure, site visits, and on-site support for various projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering.
• 5+ years of civil/structural experience.
• Interested in nuclear and pursuing FE/EIT, PE certification.
• Tools such as ANSYS, LS-DYNA, GTSTRUDL or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop infrastructure projects, such as roads, bridges, and buildings, ensuring safety and efficiency
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design specifications
• Resolve technical issues for building structure design, fabrication , assembly and construction phases
• Technical justification for design changes and emergent issues and troubleshooting
• On-site support at utilities, sites and smaller projects
• Use ANSYS, LS-DYNA, GTSTRUDL
• Maintain software compliance records and closure of engineering corrective actions
• Learn industry civil/structural codes and standards like ACI, AISC, ASCE and AWS
• Sketches and markups using AutoCAD or similar CAD
• Document design change proposals, document revisions, new documents and drawing generation
