Job summary

Audubon is seeking a Civil/Structural Designer III for our Houston, TX office to design civil/structural equipment, components, structures or systems. The role includes creating detailed drawings, BOMs and specs, and performing basic calculations.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years’ experience, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, CADWorx, PDMS) and field experience in offshore or process industries. This on-site position emphasizes collaboration with clients and team members while upholding HSSE standards.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED is required.
• Associate’s Degree from a technical institution preferred.
• Minimum 10+ years’ experience preferred.
• AutoCAD software experience required.
• CADWorx and PDMS software experience preferred.
• Microsoft Office software experience preferred.
• Field experience required.
• Experience in offshore oil & gas, onshore gas processing, hydrocarbon storage and transportation, chemical manufacturing or refining industry required.
• Small project lead experience required.
• Medium/Large project lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts, designs and working drawings.
• Interpret verbal or written direction to initiate a preliminary design.
• Perform basic calculations and trigonometry functions as needed.
• Check and verify accuracy of drawings prepared by others.
• Prepare BOM and specifications when drawings are complete.
• Implement revisions and change control per company standards.
• Assemble information and reference drawings from multiple sources.
• Design components or portions of systems and modify existing designs.
• Utilize 2D/3D CAD software to create layouts of civil/structural systems.
• Create technical specifications to facilitate procurement, fabrication and installation.
• Interact with clients, subcontractors, vendors and other consultants.
• Adhere to HSSE standards and safety requirements.
