Job summary
Milhouse is seeking an energetic Civil Engineering - Site Development Manager for our downtown Chicago office. You will lead a civil engineering design team, oversee site development projects for public and private clients in Illinois, and ensure quality delivery while mentoring staff and promoting innovation.
Reporting to the VP of Civil / Transportation, you will manage multiple design projects, develop layouts and utility plans, and grow the transportation portfolio through strong client
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years designing site-civil projects with 5 years leading design teams.
- PE license in Illinois required.
- Strong leadership, communication and PM skills.
- Experience with public agencies (CDB, PBC, CHA, CDOT) and site development software.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a civil engineering design team of 3–6 people with mentorship.
- Oversee site and utility design plans from start to finish for public/private clients in Illinois.
- Develop conceptual site layouts, grading, utilities, drainage and permitting.
- Maintain client relationships and assist with business development for transportation projects.
- Coach staff to promote innovation and work-life balance; ensure QA/QC on projects.
- Manage billable projects and practical project execution.
